Film Title: Roxie’s Revenge

In 50 words or less, what is your film about?

Roxie’s Revenge takes place in the fictional city of Deville’s bay (Often pronounced Devil’s bay which is a nod to SinCity which is the film that got me into the genre.) The Story basically follows a jade cop on his mission to solve a case for a beautiful Scarlett only to find there is a huge twist in the case.

What was your motivation to make this film… why this film, and why now?

I often write a lot and I listen to music to get inspiration for stories. One night I happened to be listening to some modern swing music and this song came on and I started to see the alley scene in my head and just ran with it.

Was there anything strange, funny, interesting, sad, scary, or otherwise unusual about making this film?

Well, on the 2nd day of shooting we did the warehouse scene and it was about 75 degrees and sunny outside, but in the warehouse it was closer to 80, so my cast and crew were on the verge of rioting because I took long getting good takes, but I was worried sick people would walk out on me. The next night the weather switched on a dime and it was freezing cold and raining. This night we shot the scenes with Dusty and Savanna or Clyde and Roxie and I had Savanna out in this weather in nothing but a thin little red dress. We’re all bundled up trying to stay warm and here she is out in this weather taking it like a trooper and going through several takes of the same scene. I was worried sick she was gonna freeze to death but she insisted we keep shooting so we did.

What is your connection to Mississippi?  If you don’t have one, why did you choose to enter your film into a Mississippi festival?

I’ve lived here my whole life, this is my home, and this is were I want my legacy to be created and grow.
