Filmmaker’s Name and Title: Marc Wagenaar (director, writer, producer)

Length of film: 7 minutes
In 50 words or less, what’s this film about?
This film is about a man, a woman and a chicken. Being more specific: A woman's biological clock is ticking waiting for 'The Eggman' to pass by in her kitchen. This is her chance to get pregnant but therefore she needs to seduce him.
What inspired you to make this film?
I just made my first film, shooting four long nights and days in a forest. I spent all my money on my first project but I wanted to shoot a second film. If I only could get a simple idea, taking place in one room. That was what I was thinking. On youtube I saw a contest commercial of somebody putting Nutella in his mouth with his hands, as quick as possible. In the end I think that was where the idea came from. An image popped up in my head about a woman kneeling down in a corridor while eating a raw egg. I tried to figure out how the woman ended up there eating the raw egg, and then 'The Eggman' came along.

What’s your connection to Mississippi? (If you don’t have one, why did you apply to a Mississippi festival?)
My only connection is the name of the river and the name of the state. As a young child I heard the name Mississippi. It sounded to me like a land where dreams could become true. It appeared to be a state and a river and imagined the river to be like the Nile in Egypt.
As for the festival, I read in a movie meter article that Crossroads Film Festival is one of the highest rated festivals to pay an entree fee for. The festival seems to have a great vibe and warm atmosphere. A place where film is alive, and more than that. A promising stage for filmmakers to step into the competitive world of filmmakers.
Anything else you want the audience to know about your film:
I really hope they enjoy watching the film. Unfortunately I'm not able to visit the festival because of financial reasons and the dutch film academy is absorbing my time. I forgot to mention that 'The Eggman' was my application film to get into the directing section of the academy. Thank you for watching in advance and really hope to visit Mississippi very soon!
