New in 2016!  “Lagniappe Awards” –

The programming team is pleased to offer these special “Lagniappe Awards” to films we particularly enjoyed. The “Lagniappe Award” is an “honorable mention” for filmmaking achievement, for content, and/or for sheer fun!  The only criteria are that a programmer must nominate the film, and it must not have won in another category.  “Lagniappe Award” winning films receive a certificate of merit and special Crossroads laurels. Winners of the 2016 “Lagniappe Awards” are:

  • Another Kind of Girl (Jordan), Dir. Khaldiya Jibawi, Prod. Laura Doggett
  • Atomic, MS: 50 Years Later (USA), Dir. Dr. Brad Schultz & Kathleen Wickham, Prod. Bailey Braseth
  • Fire Water Earth Air and Time (Feuer Wasser Erde Luft und Zeit) (Germany), Dir. & Prod. Maria Reinhardt-Szyba
  • A King’s Betrayal (USA), Dir. David A Bornstein, Prod. Andres Avalos, Lily Nguyen & Ahmed El-Mawas

  • Mining Poems or Odes (UK), Dir. Callum Rice
